Phoenix mother pushes for front license plate law after daughter’s unsolved killing

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Four and a half years after Destiny McClain was shot and killed while waiting at a food truck near 17th Street and McDowell Road, her case remains unsolved, and her mother believes a single detail could have changed everything.

Surveillance video captured the killer’s vehicle with its front end clearly visible. But the car bore no front license plate, leaving detectives with little more than a description: a dark-colored sedan, possibly a Chevy Impala.
