Mesa traffic officials used the incorrect signature of a judge when it issued thousands of photo enforcement traffic citations.
The city says that between 2020 and 2021, over 43,000 citations issued by the police department carried the incorrect signature of a magistrate judge. A similar error took place again in 2024 when more than 2,000 citations were issued using the incorrect signature of another judge.
