Mesa man gets life for killing co-worker over suspected workplace romance

MESA, AZ (AZFamily) — A Mesa man will spend life behind bars after he killed a co-worker over suspicions of a workplace romance, prosecutors say.

The Maricopa County Attorney’s Office announced that Tyler McGuire, 31, was sentenced to life in prison after being convicted of first-degree murder in the death of Deazo Seghi, 22.

“This defendant carried out a planned and unprovoked killing, leaving a family to endure an unimaginable loss,” Maricopa County Attorney Rachel Mitchell said in a statement. “This sentence delivers justice for the victim and affirms that this level of violence will be met with the strongest consequences under the law.”
