Couple arrested in connection to drive-by shooting that ended in Phoenix crash

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Two people have been arrested in connection with a drive-by shooting that ended in a crash in north Phoenix earlier this month.

Court documents obtained Wednesday revealed that Johnathan Scott Rangel, 30, and his girlfriend, Kendra Lee Wieser, 31, are facing multiple charges over the violent encounter that happened on Jan. 17.

Court papers state that around 6:40 p.m., two victims were driving north on the Black Canyon Access Road, just north of Peoria Avenue, when the couple reportedly blocked two lanes of traffic before Rangel and Wieser both fired their guns at a man and a woman.

Investigators said the man shot in the passenger seat managed to call 911 while the driver began backing out and tried to drive away, but they were being followed and kept being shot at as they were driving the wrong way…
