Gunman On The Run After Pre-Dawn Shooting At 43rd Avenue And Indian School

Phoenix police are hunting for a gunman after officers found a man shot near 43rd Avenue and West Indian School Road early Friday morning. Officers were called out around 2:30 a.m., where they discovered a man with at least one gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital, and police described his injuries as non-life-threatening. The shooter had already taken off before officers got there, and detectives have opened an investigation into what happened.

According to 12News, officers were called to the intersection and found the injured man near 43rd Avenue and West Indian School Road. Reporter Adam Correa notes that investigators have not released any suspect description and are urging anyone who saw or recorded anything to contact police.

This early-morning gunfire came on the heels of a separate trooper-involved shooting on Indian School Road the previous night. In that case, state SWAT troopers serving a high-risk warrant were involved in a shootout, and both a trooper and the suspect were wounded, according to the agency. The Arizona Department of Public Safety said that incident happened Thursday evening near 2435 W. Indian School Road and that the suspect was taken into custody.
