A passenger in a car that had been pulled over for a civil traffic stop jumped out of the vehicle and began shooting at a Chandler officer, police said.
The sedan had pulled into a shopping complex near Arizona Avenue and Riggs Road for the stop on the evening of Feb. 5, said Ryan Cody, a Chandler Police Department spokesman.
