Mesa environmental artist part of area show

Street signs, luggage, barrel lids, discarded kitchen cabinet doors, old appliances…even a 1940s car door. Mesa mixed media artist Meg Harper has painted colorful, uplifting scenes of nature and animals on all types of reclaimed materials.

As an environmentalist who strives to share her passion for healing the Earth, Harper also hopes her whimsical pieces resonate with others, and evoke positive feelings of hope and joy.

Harper is one of nearly 100 local and national juried artists participating in Thunderbird Artists’ 5th Annual Downtown Chandler Fine Art & Wine Festival, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday through Sunday, Feb. 13-15, at 178 E. Commonwealth Ave., Chandler.

The event also features wine tastings, food vendors, and live entertainment. A portion of proceeds from entry fees and wine ticket sales will be donated to the nonprofit Downtown Chandler Community Partnership (DCCP)…
