Surprise Snags Nitro Ice Cream Hotspot As Nite Creamery Targets Bell Road

Nitro-chilled scoops are headed for the West Valley. Nite Creamery, the California-born ice cream shop that debuted in Tempe last year, is planning a second Phoenix-area location in Surprise. The new shop is set to take over a space at 17865 W. Bell Road and is expected to open in May or June 2026 as the brand’s first franchise location, bringing its made-to-order, liquid nitrogen ice cream to Bell Road regulars.

Co-owner Nino Eng, who runs Nite Creamery with his wife Cher, told What Now Phoenix that the Surprise store will be operated by franchisees Nick Cantor and Flavio Salazar III and is scheduled to open in May or June. Eng said the brand “strongly believe[s] that we are the future of ice cream” and noted that staff will remake orders if customers are not happy, all in the name of keeping what he called a high “happiness rate.”

Nitro-Made, Single-Batch Ice Cream

Nite Creamery builds each order from fresh ingredients, then flash-freezes the mix with liquid nitrogen to create single-batch ice cream on demand. That production method, which the company says yields an especially dense and very creamy texture, is central to the chain’s pitch, according to Nite Creamery.

Tempe Proved The Concept

The Tempe location, which opened in 2025 near Arizona State University, quickly drew attention for its showy liquid-nitrogen clouds and bold flavor combinations.
