PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Sunshine and much warmer weather is on tap for the Valley and state for the new week ahead, with the possibility of record heat by the weekend.
Look for a high of 85 degrees in the Valley today. That’s 13 degrees above normal for this time of year and 4 degrees shy of the daily record. Strong high pressure is expected to keep afternoon temperatures unseasonably warm all week long.
Tuesday and Wednesday bring an increase in high cloud cover, but it likely won’t be enough to keep temperatures from climbing well above average. Look for an afternoon high of 86 degrees on Tuesday and 88 degrees on Wednesday. That will mark our warmest day of the year so far…
