Phoenix hospital agrees to pay $5 million to resolve ‘kickback’ allegations

PHOENIX — An orthopedic surgery hospital in Phoenix and other parties have agreed to pay $5.6 million to resolve kickback allegations investigated by the federal government.

The U.S. Department of Justice announced Tuesday a settlement had been reached with OASIS Hospital, Dignity/USP Phoenix Surgery Centers and United Surgical Partners International Inc. to resolve alleged violations of the False Claims Act.
