Mesa/s EVIT program gives homeless students hope, tech

Approaching its two-year mark, HopeTech at East Valley Institute of Technology (EVIT) continues helping foster youth and young adults experiencing homelessness pursue education, career training, and independence.

For youth reaching age 18 with no plan or place to go, HopeTech provides a 64-bed residence hall while they complete one of EVIT’s 50 Career Technical Education (CTE) programs and work part-time.

HopeTech is open to young adults ages 18-23 in foster care or classified as homeless under the federal McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act. Open enrollment for the EVIT 2026-27 school year, is currently underway…
