Elizabeth J. White celebrates 103 years, legacy of unity at Mrs. White’s Golden Rule Cafe

PHOENIX — For more than six decades, Elizabeth J. White has welcomed customers into Mrs. White’s Golden Rule Cafe, a downtown staple known for its Southern fare and commitment to community.

On her 103rd birthday, family, friends and longtime patrons gathered at Warren’s Supper Club, a restaurant founded by White’s grandson, Larry White, to celebrate a legacy rooted in faith, resilience and service.

White founded the Golden Rule Cafe in the mid-1960s, stepping in after her brother closed the restaurant and moved away. With his blessing, she took over the space to provide for her family…
