CHANDLER, AZ (AZFamily) — A Valley woman said a bail bondsman kept her $25,000 cash payment and the deed to her condo for months after her boyfriend’s criminal cases were dismissed — and only returned the deed after Arizona’s Family Investigates began asking questions.
Meishael Smith said she hired bail bondsman Tyler Baldwin and his company, American Pride Bail Bonds, to help secure the release of her boyfriend, Jovontae Hill, after his arrest. Court documents show Hill had two separate cases — one out of California on a weapons offense and another in Georgia for larceny — both involving failures to appear in court.
The bond in the first case was $25,000 cash. The second was $200,000…
