PHOENIX — Speed cameras across Phoenix will start issuing citations Wednesday, ending the city’s 30-day warning period in which the devices captured more than 70,000 speeding violations.
The city deployed nine cameras in corridors with a history of speed-related crashes. Eight additional cameras will rotate through school zones during the school year.
“During the warning period of the Photo Safety Program, we saw an alarming number of drivers exceeding safe speeds,” Street Transportation Director Briiana Velez said in a press release…
