Suspected fentanyl dealer charged with manslaughter in overdose death

MESA, Ariz. — A suspected drug dealer has been charged in the death of a person he allegedly sold fentanyl to.

Police arrested 45-year-old James Amalfi who is now charged with reckless manslaughter, sale of lethal fentanyl and drug possession.

According to court documents, Amalfi sold a white powdery substance to a Mesa man whose family had sought help for his opioid addiction. Police say Amalfi delivered the drugs to the man’s house in the early morning hours of December 27, 2024…
