A man is dead after a stabbing on a west Phoenix block off Cactus Road, and detectives are now leaning on neighbors and passersby to help them figure out what happened.
Phoenix Fire crews rushed the wounded man to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, according to police. Officers say the suspect took off before they got there, and homicide detectives are now leading the case.

In a statement to 12 News, Phoenix police said officers were called Thursday to the 2800 block of West Cactus Road after reports of a fight that ended in a stabbing. Homicide detectives responded, but the suspect had already left the scene before officers arrived.
