Arizona man sentenced for trafficking 30+ pounds of methamphetamine

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — An Arizona man will spend five years in prison for trafficking over two dozen pounds of methamphetamine, officials say.

Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes announced that Miguel Leon was sentenced to five years after being convicted of drug trafficking and weapons charges.

Mayes’ office says on Oct. 29, 2025, Leon delivered 32.6 pounds of meth to an informant in the parking lot of a Phoenix business. The informant and a Mexico-based coordinator agreed to purchase the drugs for $30,000. When he was taken into custody, authorities found a loaded 9mm handgun inside his car.
