Parents want $1M from Mesa Police for son’s suicide

The parents of a 34-year-old man who died by suicide last year blame Mesa Police for not doing enough to save him and want the city to pay them $1 million.

Mesa has not responded to the March 25 claim filed by Marvin and Laurie Moore’s attorney, according to spokesman Kevin Christopher.

According to the claim, Brandon Moore texted his mother at 3:57 p.m. last Sept. 30, stating, “Hello. I am at peace. I’m going to try to eat. Then I’m going to shower. Then at long last, I’m going to sleep. I love you. I’m going home now. I’ll tell you where to send for my remains right before I fall asleep. Goodbye.”

Six minutes later he texted his father, saying he was finally going to sleep and bid him goodbye…
