Phoenix woman indicted for attempting to smuggle rifles and weapon parts over the southern border

PHOENIX — A Phoenix woman was indicted by a grand jury recently for attempting to smuggle multiple rifles and weapon parts across the southern border in April, according to the United States Department of Justice District of Arizona.

According to court documents, on April 19, Migdelia Irma Mendoza, 42, of Phoenix, was traveling in a Lexus to Mexico and passed multiple signs warning drivers that firearms and ammunition are prohibited in the Republic of Mexico, the DOJ said.
