New downtown Miami pho shop might be the most authentic yet

Downtown Miami has a new Vietnamese noodle shop, and it might be one of the city’s most authentic yet. Pho Nam opened Thursday, September 3, at 270 East Flagler St., from chef Tam Pham and sommelier Harrison Ramhofer, the husband-and-husband team behind Tâm Tâm.

Their second restaurant draws on the neighborhood pho shops they frequent in Vietnam, with a menu rooted in the dishes Pham grew up eating in Saigon. Expect slow-simmered broths, phin-brewed Vietnamese coffee, loose-leaf teas sourced from Vietnam, and dishes ranging from bánh xèo to broken rice and whole fried fish.

At Tâm Tâm, Pham built a menu around quán nhậu, the Vietnamese tradition of gathering over drinks and plenty of food. At Pho Nam, the focus shifts to the comforting noodle soups, rice dishes, and drinks that shaped his childhood…
