SW 126th St. & SW 189th Ave. — Approximate Location of Fatal Shooting
A Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office captain driving along Southwest 126th Street near Southwest 189th Avenue around 7:30 a.m. Sunday found an unresponsive man lying along the shoulder of the road. The captain discovered the man had suffered gunshot wounds, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. The man has not been publicly identified.
According to CBS News, the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office says the captain was simply driving through the area, known as the Redlands, when the discovery was made. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded to the scene and declared the man dead there. The Sheriff’s Office Homicide Bureau has since assumed the investigation into the shooting death, though no further details about the man’s identity, a suspect, or a possible motive have been released.
