Cookouts – safe spaces that celebrate culture, food, music and loved ones – have long been a valued tradition in the Black community. In keeping with that tradition and wanting to uplift Black culinary talent, New York chef Joseph “JJ” Johnson will bring his signature “The Cookout” event to the 23rd annual South Beach Wine & Food Festival, running Feb. 22-25.
