U.S. Passengers Stranded In Bahamas Airport As ‘Illegal Immigrants’

Passengers on American Airlines Flight 2421 from San Juan, Puerto Rico, to Miami, Florida, found themselves stranded overnight in the Bahamas due to severe weather conditions. The flight was diverted to Nassau, where passengers were left without accommodations, forcing them to sleep on the airport floor.

Most of the passengers did not have their passports because they were not needed to fly from Puerto Rico to the United States.

Dimas Henriquez , a passenger on the flight, described the situation as “excruciating.”

He told Fox News Digital , “We were literally locked in… It was not possible to leave . I was awake the entire time, but people were on the floor covered in corners and stuff, like very spread out. It looked like we were camping indoors.”

Henriquez also mentioned that the passengers were referred to as “illegal immigrants” by local authorities despite the fact that they did not choose to be in the Bahamas. The passengers were left in the airport for approximately 14 hours , with minimal communication from American Airlines staff.
