Man, father arrested after downtown Miami stabbing

MIAMI – A man and his father are both facing charges in connection with a stabbing that occurred in downtown Miami Thursday evening, according to police. An arrest report states it all started after one of the men confronted the victim for urinating in public.

Miami police said they arrested Eliot Ray Rudes, 41, of Coral Gables, on a charge of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. His 76-year-old father, James Rudes, faces an attempted evidence tampering charge.

Police said the stabbing happened at around 8:40 p.m. at Northeast Second Avenue and Second Street. The elder Rudes lives at the Loft Downtown II condominium building at that same intersection…
