WASHINGTON (CBS12) — As the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) crusade to slash the federal budget continues, many U.S. buildings are finding themselves on the chopping block.
As the Elon Musk-led agency continues to end leases and shut down the offices, it is compiling a list on its website to allow taxpayers to see what is being closed. That list includes dozens of buildings across Florida, and the savings from those closures are estimated to run into the millions.
As of Thursday, federal offices in 14 counties in the state have been added. The targeted locations stretch from Key Largo to Jacksonville to Pensacola, and take aim at agencies including the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration, the National Park Service, and U.S. Agency for Global Media…
