Miami Scalpers Are ‘Legally’ Selling DMV Appointments For $250: ‘That’s Why I Can’t Get an Appointment 😡’

Miami residents struggling to schedule a free appointment with the DMV are in luck, as scalpers are selling booked appointments for up to $250. What a steal! Jokes aside, the underground network of sellers offering scheduled reservations for the DMV is a service that Florida drivers are actually paying for. The wild part is that the reselling of these appointments is not illegal, at least, not if Miami-Dade Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez has anything to say about it.

We know who they are and how they operate. We will not accept any appointment obtained through system abuse,” Fernandez proclaims in an official statement. He promises that his office is committed to ensuring that Miami drivers have “fair and equal access” to appointment services provided by the local DMVs. “I’m here to fix it,” the tax collector continues, claiming that he’s taking the proper action with local and state partners to make the act of reselling appointments illegal. Regardless, it’s still pretty wild to imagine that this all wasn’t outlawed in the first place.

“That’s why I can’t get an appointment 😡,” growls an angry Facebook user, realizing why it feels impossible to book a visit at the DMV. “Damn, I found a new job 😂,” jokes another. One commenter remarks how scalpers also did the same for the immigration office in Miami. Getting an appointment would be such a challenge unless you’re willing to buy it from bad actors online. Needless to say, plenty of locals and online users feel that this problem shouldn’t have existed in the first place.

“The fact that it’s not ‘illegal’ – is wild … and the fact that we keep reporting it and nothing has ever changed is even crazier. It is NOT that hard to fix this problem,” exclaims an Instagram user…
