MIAMI, Florida — A 34-year-old Miami man has admitted to embezzling over $190,000 from a deceased customer’s accounts while working at an international financial institution. Billy Gedeon pled guilty to the charges in the Southern District of Florida.
Gedeon confessed to accessing the deceased customer’s accounts multiple times without authorization, according to a press release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Florida. In 2023, he forged the customer’s signature to close an account, withdrew the funds, and deposited them into his personal account at another bank.
Senior U.S. District Judge Federico Moreno has scheduled Gedeon’s sentencing for June 10 at 10:00 a.m. Eastern Time. Gedeon faces a maximum penalty of up to 30 years in prison. The sentence will be determined by considering the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors…
