Isolated shooting reported at Crandon Park; no ongoing threat, authorities say

Units from the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office descended on Crandon Park at 10:30 am. Saturday in response to an “isolated incident” that initially was reported as a shooting in the vicinity of 6745 Crandon Boulevard, which would be just outside of Village of Key Biscayne limits, near the entrance to the Crandon Park Marina.

According to Det. Angel Rodriguez, the Sheriff Department’s weekend Police Information Officer, one male patient was ground-transported to a nearby hospital as part a trauma alert after trying to take his own life.
