Looking ahead to Art Week this winter, a handful of cartoon-like pink figures are taking over Lincoln Road as part of the promenade’s ongoing efforts to bring public art to its spaces.
Towering between 12 and 20 feet tall, these curious characters make up the city’s soon-to-arrive-exhibition: “Mr. Pink Takes Flight” (“Monsieur Rose s’envole”). Comprised of five monumental sculptures known as Monsieur Rose — or Mr. Pink — they’ll peek out of buildings, sit comfortably on rooftops and even stand at street level.
