An 8-year-old girl is recovering at a Hollywood hospital after being bitten by a dog last Friday afternoon. According to CBS News, the incident occurred shortly after her mother, Keyrelly Jean Castro, picked her up from school. The child, who is autistic, suffered facial injuries that were not considered life-threatening, according to Hollywood Fire Rescue.
Jean Castro called for help as her daughter was attacked by a neighbor’s pit bull. She also said the dog had previously acted aggressively toward her and another daughter. Surveillance video obtained by NBC Miami shows the pit bull breaking free from its leash and lunging at the girl on the 1800 block of Funston Street.
The dog’s owner told NBC Miami that the pit bull also bit him during the incident while he tried to restrain it. He said he decided to surrender the dog to a shelter following the attack…
