Key Biscayne’s Winn-Dixie stays put as grocer enters ‘new era’ focused on Florida roots

Positive feedback from Key Biscayne grocery shoppers has been a boon for the local Winn-Dixie, according to the parent company’s top officials, who announced last week that even further additions will be part of their 2026 focus as the chain begins its second 100 years.

Southeastern Grocers, LLC announced it will “step into a new era” as The Winn-Dixie Company in early 2026, uniting the Jacksonville-based company under one iconic brand with a renewed focus on its home state of Florida.

“The change honors Winn-Dixie’s century-long legacy while positioning the grocer for growth through investments designed to modernize stores, enrich the customer experience, and re-imagine the neighborhood grocer for the next 100 years,” according to a news release…
