Across the city, rising housing costs are forcing educators to make impossible choices, whether to live hours from their schools, take on second or third jobs, or, in many cases, leave the profession altogether.
This isn’t just a housing issue; it’s an education issue. When teachers can’t afford to live in Miami, our students lose out on the stability, mentorship, and long-term relationships that help them thrive.
When Teach For America first launched in Florida in 2003, our mission was clear: to partner with school districts to recruit and develop strong teachers who could make a lasting difference for students.
