North Miami Beach police are actively searching for a shooter following a reported road rage incident that erupted into gunfire. According to NBC Miami, the shooting happened on Monday in the vicinity of Northeast 179th Terrace and 10th Avenue. Witnesses reportedly saw multiple shots being fired from one vehicle at another, causing residents to quickly seek cover.
A local man described to NBC Miami, “So I saw a sedan that was driving down 10th Avenue right over here, and then an SUV that already like, wildly turned onto the street.” Despite the evident violence of the situation, initial observation seemed to indicate that nobody had been hurt. Authorities are still trying to fully assess any potential damage that may have been caused during the incident, which they believe to be an isolated event stemming from road rage.
The neighborhood where the gunfire took place is a predominantly Orthodox Jewish community, which Local 10 News reported as concerning given the time of the shooting last Saturday afternoon – the Sabbath, when many families are out walking.
