A Miami-Dade Corrections and Rehabilitation Department officer died Friday in an off-duty motorcycle crash in Sunrise, authorities said.
Officer Justin Bozeman was pronounced dead at the scene, Sunrise police said. The driver of the car, who was not identified, sustained minor injuries.
Sunrise Police Department officers responded around 10 p.m. Friday to a crash between a motorcycle and a car on the 2400 block of University Drive, a spokesperson said. A Miami-Dade corrections officer was riding the motorcycle and crashed with the vehicle while it was making a left turn.
