The winds of March have arrived in sunny South Florida and that has turned the offshore waters choppy and tough at times.
The forecast for this weekend might be the same as a cold front is expected for the beginning of the weekend.
This week’s east wind pushed some mahi schools closer in but they were tough to catch. Schools of flying fish were being pushed to the surface by mahi and frigate birds/ The mahi tried to pick them off, giving away their location. The mahi were so focused on the flying fish that if you tried to feed them anything else they would ignore it. Frozen flying fish can be bought at a few Miami bait shops, so you might want to look into acquiring some before you head out…
