Travel alert: Storms halt flights at Miami airport. What to know about ground stop

Flights at Miami International Airport were halted Tuesday morning as thunderstorms blanketed the area.

The Federal Aviation Administration issued the ground stop at 7 a.m. Tuesday for arriving flights, according to MIA. The ground stop was lifted around 7:55 a.m., a spokesperson for the Federal Aviation Administration said.
