Hialeah Weighs New Fee Schedule for All Zoning and Planning Applications

Anyone in Hialeah who’s ever tried to figure out what it costs to request a variance, file a site plan, or get a special use permit may soon have a clear answer in writing.

An ordinance on the June 10 Planning & Zoning Board agenda would create a new, formally codified fee schedule—Section 98-8—added directly into Hialeah’s zoning code. The ordinance spans more than 20 sections across the city’s zoning, signs, and solid waste codes, with City Council scheduled to take it up at its June 23 meeting.

The fee schedule would be attached as a formal exhibit to the code, giving property owners, contractors, and developers a single place to look up what they owe before filing an application.
