Several people injured, one critically, after Miami area carjackings, MDSO says

A string of carjackings that might be related sent several people to hospitals Thursday night, the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office said.

One of those hospitalized, a man who was beaten and stabbed for his car, was taken to HCA Florida Kendall Hospital in critical condition, MDSO said.

That man was found by deputies answering a call at Southwest 67th Avenue and Bird Road, about a mile west of Coral Gables, around 8:45 p.m. Other calls about armed robberies and carjackings came from Southwest 137th Avenue and Miller Road and a Chevron at Southwest 157th Avenue and Kendall Drive.
