Miami just got the cutest little mammal around! Zoo Miami recently welcomed the birth of a female Addra gazelle calf, marking the 87th birth of this critically endangered species in its history.
News of the tiny newcomer, born on August 26th and weighing just under 11 pounds, was shared on the zoo’s social media pages Friday, with photographs taken by Ron Magill.
“After an initial short period of being held behind the scenes, she now been given access to the public habitat with her parents,” the caption reads. “Though still instinctively tucking herself in the cover of tall grass, she is becoming increasingly secure on the habitat and should be more visible within a few days.”…
