Providing music-loving Miamians with an experience like no other, Gibson is set to open its third retail store this week — Gibson Garage Miami. Setting up shop on the third floor of the Wynwood Garage, it’ll be the ultimate destination for rockers in the city following locations in Nashville and London.
What to expect
The 8,000-square-foot space will stock more than 500 instruments spanning the full Gibson family of brands, including Gibson, Epiphone, Kramer and more. A moving overhead conveyor belt of guitars, a nod to the finishing process at Gibson’s “craftories,” runs through the room as a visual reminder that every instrument is built to be played and not just admired.
At the heart of the floor is a live performance stage built for regular artist showcases, album release events and community programming. Appearances from both established and emerging artists are planned, with specific names to be announced ahead of opening week. The space will also debut the first stateside Gibson Gallery, which will play host to must-see exhibits covering photography, street art and music history.
Players can even design their very own dream guitar through Gibson Custom Made to Measure, working with Garage Pros to pick out wood tops, neck profiles, pickups, hardware, finishes and aging techniques, with the finished product handcrafted in Nashville…
