Florida Woman Arrested in Connection to Overdose Death of Infant

A Florida woman was arrested in connection to an overdose death of an infant. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) arrested 29-year-old Pearlandria Boujolly, of Miami-Dade, in connection to an overdose death of her 18-month-old child. She was charged with one count of aggravated manslaughter of a child under 18 years old.

At the beginning of the year, the City of Miami Police Department and Miami Fire Rescue responded to an unresponsive male infant. The victim was transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital (JMH) for further treatment but was pronounced deceased a short time later. The Miami-Dade County Medical Examiner’s Department conducted an autopsy, which revealed the presence of fentanyl and trace amount of cocaine in the victim’s blood, according to law enforcement.

FDLE’s investigation revealed that narcotics were left in an unlocked room in the residence where the victim was found. Investigators determined the victim accidentally ingested a small amount of the drugs that were in that room. Boujolly was not inside the residence when the victim consumed the drugs…
