Federal agents searched a shipment at a Miami freight warehouse and found nine rifles, six pistols, more than 5,000 rounds of ammunition and dozens of firearm components hidden inside household cargo bound for Suriname. The discovery has landed Bidjaikoemar “Jerry” Nanhoe in federal custody, facing charges of smuggling goods from the United States, delivering firearms to a common carrier without notice, and trafficking in firearms.
According to the Miami Herald, the shipment consisted of four plastic storage bins, two coolers and a chair, none of which were declared as containing firearms on the shipping paperwork. Nanhoe had listed the cargo simply as “general cargo 4 hdx box, 2 cooler, 1 chair” on the declaration form, the paper reports. Investigators say the reality inside those containers was far different: nine rifles, six pistols, 18 unfinished, unserialized AR-type lower receivers, 14 complete AR-type upper receivers, 5,140 rounds of ammunition, 59 magazines and other firearm parts.
Homeland Security Investigations opened the investigation with the ATF and Miami Beach Police, according to the Herald. Nanhoe arrived in Miami on August 25, 2026, on Surinam Airways Flight 421, and investigators tracked his activity in South Florida before the shipment was searched.
Tracing the Path From Weston to a Miami Warehouse
Investigators traced the cargo to Seven Winds Shipping, a freight-forwarding operation at 8160 NW 71st Street in Miami, after Nanhoe traveled from a Weston storage facility with about seven pieces of cargo, the Herald reported. The shipping paperwork identified Nanhoe Enterprise as the entity sending and receiving the shipment.
