A 66-year-old Miami man was booked into jail Saturday evening after deputies found a dead tarpon hidden in the back of his pickup truck at Bahia Honda State Park.
According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, Lower Keys Marine Deputy Luis Guiardinu was patrolling the park around 8:34 p.m. when he stopped to speak with a fisherman. The deputy asked the angler, identified as Lazaro Morales, if he had caught any fish that night.
