Mom Arrested After High-Speed Chase With Kids Unrestrained, Felon Passenger

Miami, FL – A 33-year-old mother was arrested after fleeing police, causing two collisions, and endangering her two young children who were found unrestrained in the vehicle, while also having a convicted felon with a gun and narcotics in the car.

Police in South Florida announced the arrest of 33-year-old Alexis Deshayla Harris on Thursday following a dangerous driving incident.

According to police, an officer witnessed Harris failing to stop at a stop sign and attempted to pull her over.

Harris fled the scene, causing two collisions and striking a parked police vehicle.

Two young children, ages 2 and 3, were found unrestrained in the vehicle during the arrest.

The passenger in the car was a convicted felon who was armed with a gun and narcotics.

Harris was arrested on multiple charges of child neglect, fleeing police, reckless driving, and driving with a suspended license.
