FIU Police Department Chief Alexander Casas returned to duty on July 1 after being placed on leave by the university back in May. PantherNOW obtained a memo sent out to FIUPD staff from James Mesidor, the acting chief during the leave, announcing Casas’s return. The memo was later confirmed in a phone call to FIUPD.
