Elite 2026 LB Izayia Williams opens up recruitment, now focusing on FSU, UF, Miami

Four-star 2026 linebacker Izayia Williams decommitted from the Syracuse Orange on Sunday and is now only focusing on the big three Florida schools — Florida State, Miami and Florida.

“Florida State has always been a dream school because it was in Florida,” Williams told Warchant on Tuesday.

According to On3, the talented in-state linebacker is a top-50 prospect in the country, the No. 3 player at his position , and the sixth-best recruit in the state of Florida.

Now that he has reopened his recruitment, Williams plans to attend a Florida State home game this fall to get a better sense for what the Seminoles’ football program is all about.

So far, defensive coordinator Adam Fuller has been Williams’ main point of contact with the Seminoles. The Leesburg product said he has yet to talk to linebackers coach Randy Shannon .

“I have been talking to Coach Fuller,” Williams said. “I’m looking for build the relationship with him.”

Williams is also very high on FSU head coach Mike Norvell and said he has paid attention as the Seminoles have emerged as the top team in his home state.
