16-Year-Old Arrested in Fatal Broward County Shooting

Detectives from the Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO) have arrested a 16-year-old male in connection with the fatal shooting of another teenager in Wilton Manors.

The incident occurred on the afternoon of September 16, 2024, in a multi-family residence on Northwest 25th Street.

The victim, 16-year-old Christopher Granados, was transported to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

According to investigators, Granados and the suspect, who was not named in the release, were playing with firearms when one accidentally discharged, striking the victim.

The suspect was arrested and charged with manslaughter with a firearm. Authorities confirmed that the shooting was isolated to the residence, posing no threat to the broader community.

The investigation is ongoing.
