A Fixture in the Local Dining Scene, the Family-Owned Restaurant Leaves Behind a Legacy of Memories and a Community in Mourning
Fort Lauderdale, FL – After nearly three decades of serving the Fort Lauderdale community, Christina Wan’s Mandarin House will close its doors for the last time in November 2024. The decision to close the restaurant comes as owner Christina Huynh, who has dedicated over 50 years to the restaurant industry, plans to retire and spend more time with her family, including her soon-to-be-born grandchild.
Located at 2424 N. Federal Highway, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33305, Christina Wan’s Mandarin House was founded in 1996 by Christina Wan and her husband, David. The restaurant quickly gained a loyal following for its traditional Mandarin and Szechuan dishes, all made with love and care by Christina and her team.
Christina Wan’s Mandarin House has been a staple in the Victoria Park neighborhood since 2005, offering a mix of traditional Cantonese, Mandarin, and Sichuan dishes, as well as Vietnamese influences from Huynh’s husband and chef, Jason Huynh. The restaurant has been a go-to spot for many locals and visitors, known for its warm atmosphere and dishes like moo shu pork, Peking duck, spicy tofu, and wok-fried lemongrass beef.
