Sunday Earthquake Shakes Miami as Shockwaves From Cuba Rattle Local High-Rises

Did you feel a rumble Sunday afternoon in Miami? Local experts say it probably came from an earthquake centered 200 miles to the southeast of us. Around noon on Sunday, Miami meteorologist James Van Fleet took to X (formerly Twitter) to ask Miamians whether they felt their building shake or the ground vibrate as shockwaves from a strong earthquake centered just off the coast of Santiago de Cuba rippled its way up to South Florida.
