Blender flies — not blender fries — and dishes that weren’t properly sanitized for your protection lowlighted a Doral restaurant’s failed state inspection last week.
An inspector found 28 violations, including six High Priority violations, at Alegria by El Rancherito, 8391 NW 12th St. on Wednesday. That inspection flunk closed the restaurant until it passed re-inspection on Thursday.
The most flies, 20, darted around the kitchen’s produce area. But the inspector also counted “12 live flies in the bar area, inside the blender machine.”
Also, the kitchen ceiling tiles had water damage.
While the inspector “observed the dishwashing machine was soiled on the outside,” by far the larger problem was that sanitizer measurement in the dishmachines in the ware washing area and bar area: zero parts per million.
So those plates and glasses weren’t getting sanitized, not even one bit. That’s acceptable in your home. That’s a High Priority violation for a restaurant with numerous people in varying states of health eating and drinking off the dishes and glasses.
